How to make typography effect?

Step 1 - Type Michael Jackson name all over the picture. You can use any font that you like. But I've use font of Myriad Pro in this picture. 

Step 2 - Duplicate the original layer (CTRL+J) and apply the Threshold (Image>Adjustment>Thershold).

Then, hide the original layer by close the eye of the layer.

Step 3 - Press CTRL+Click at the small image of 'T' at the word's layer.

Then, select the 'Threshold' layer and click Add layer mask.

Step 4 - Make a new layer and fill it with Paint Bucket Tool. I suggest to use this code for the colour.  # : 2d2d2d.

Now your picture should be like this.

Step 5 - Hide the layer of words.
